My Experience at Regine Velasquez Live in Concert (SILVER)

The Queen, The Gay Icon, The Diva and my FAVORITE Asia’s Song Bird Regine Velasquez is currently celebrating her 25th years in showbiz (26 years to be exact). 26 years of a very successful and colorful career, 26 years of inspiring fans through her music. I’m proud to say “Ate Reg you are irreplaceable. You Own The Throne!”

She just had a successful concert at the Mall of Asia Arena entitled Silver which I attended and I’d like to thank my friend Medz for the VIP tickets! I was very fortunate to watched her live in concert for the very first time. I witnessed how such an amazing singer she is, though she was not in the proper condition to perform, according to her she got a virus, the main reason why she lose her voice. Despite the hoarseness of her voice, she still managed to sing live and was able to entertained thousand of Pinoys. Fans supported her even if she didn’t do all the BIRIT stuff she is well known for.

Before the concert

November 16 (Friday) around 5 pm, my pretty cousin Nesh woke me up coz I got a phone call (through our landline) from a friend checking If I’m already awake. It’s a good thing he called me because I turned off the alarm clock I set at 4 pm hehe. He even reminded me to shave unwanted hairs around my face and not to be late for the concert. Ok fine! hehehe… 🙂

I was in a rush prepping up and while I was ironing the jeans I’m supposed to wear, I found out that it’s not yet washed. Damn It!

Gross noh? So changed oufit ako.

I got stuck  in Quiapo because of the traffic. Medz keeps on calling me to check If I’m near the venue, so mediyo nahahagard na ko kasi nga I hate it if friends and other people are waiting for me. Char! Funny thing was I even latched on a jeepney (sumabit sa jeep, Nag Google pa ako niyan.hehehe). Deadma lang, I still managed to smile and calm down.

Yaaayy I finally arrived in Mall of Asia. I was waiting for Medz to call me, coz I didn’t have any prepaid left. Good thing there was a prepaid station on the way to Arena. Waited on the line and while walking I just found out that I purchased the wrong prepaid card or should I say the sales lady/that bitch gave me the wrong card.

How am I supposed to call a friend??? Seriously??? This Prepaid Card is only valid for international calls.

I decided to move along and walked really far. Medz was texting me saying that he’s already inside, unfortunately he didn’t have any prepaid left to call me. I went throughout and walked around the Arena and when I couldn’t see a glimpse of him I decided to go back to that fucking prepaid station and purchased another card. Fell in line and the guy in front of me was being an asshole demanding to manually load the prepaid on his cellphone. Can you imagine the delay he’s causing? That’s the time I lost my temper so I shouted at him and literally pushed him away. I showed him how S can be a BITCH! Commotion!!! Anyway, by the time I got the prepaid, I immediately called Medz while running fastly at the same time. The  Guard/Traffic Enforcer was trying to stop me because I crossed the lane even if the Stop Light was on red. Manong guard tried to chase me while whistling, mega takbo pa din ako. When I looked back at him he was like “Bahala na nga siya! Unstoppable Gay!: hehehe 😉

The staff of the Arena was very accommodating. It’s a very good thing that I was on the VIP lane, I din’t have to fall in line. The Arena is such a big venue for concert that it can accommodate 15,000-20,000 people. Anyway, I was sweating like hell by the time I got inside, I was so tired, my legs was in pain, I even got bruises on my feet because of my shoes. 😦

As expected concert was delayed for about almost an hour (Filipino Time), but everything was worth it when Regine Velasquez showed up on her opening wearing a silver, shining and shimmering dress paired with a very fab Kermit Tesoro Silver shoes. She sang Where Have You Been by Rihanna mash-up with her song Shine. She also wore creation from Pepsi Herrera and Rajo Laurel. After the opening, Hot Legs performed and Regine came back again on stage wearing a fabulous silver gown with pinkish feathers which I really loved. She started saying sorry and even crying because she didn’t have voice. She wanted everything to be perfect because it was her comeback concert. I felt the frustration when Regine was trying to hit the high notes but she couldn’t. Thousands of fans inside the Arena were crying and was saddened but supported her all the way till the very end. She cried a lot while she was performing and I felt her eagerness to put up the best show possible. I got teary eyed and the concert was full of emotions.

My favorite performance was her duet with Lani Misalucha, the duet of Ogie Alcasid and Janno Gibbs “OJ Segment”, Michael V. who danced Gangnam Style with Ogie and Janno, Anton Diva duet with Reg singing On The Wings Of Love and when Lani sang Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin (breathtaking).

I spotted some A-Listers celebrities who who came to support Regine; Kris Aquino, Aga Mulach, Vice Ganda, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Lucy Torres, Cristalle Belo, John Sweet Lapus, Eugene Domingo, Toni Gonzaga, Jhong Hilario, Grace Poe and Jennylyn Mercado.

Celebrities like Anton Diva, John Lapus and Vice Ganda went on stage to help Regine entertain the crowd. It was not part of the show and it was a good thing these comedians are really good doing impromptu shows.

Before the end of the show, Regine confirmed to us that she’ll be doing a repeat concert for FREE!!!! We just have to keep our tickets.

After the concert we went straight to Starbucks. Take Note I didn’t have dinner! I just ate Sandwich and Donut, which was fine because Regine entertained me despite of her condition.

Can you spot Jhong Hilario?

Currently It’s almost 8 AM of Nov. 17 and I’m not yet sleeping. That’s true! When I arrived home after the concert at around 1:30 AM, I immediately faced my lap top and I’m still wide awake!

Conceited Me

Cafe Americano from Starbucks keeps me energize and awake. Or, maybe I still have hang over because of the concert?! In Your Eyes, Araw Gabi and Dadalhin keeps on playing on my mind.

What about you guys? Whats your favorite Regine Velasquez Songs? Will you still watch her perform live in concert even if she doesn’t have a voice?

THOUGHTS?

Stay Fierce and Fab

Everyone’s a DIVA! xoxo
